What It Is

The AmberWatch Foundation Youth Coalition is a group of concerned young people who support the AmberWatch Foundation in fulfilling its mission by contributing their time and ideas to the ongoing improvement of the AmberWatch Foundation programs and bringing attention to the cause of abduction and molestation prevention through Youth Coalition communication projects, events and fundraising campaigns.

Who They Are

Members of the AmberWatch Foundation Youth Coalition are kids from every walk of life and from all over America. They are united by their shared commitment to the idea that the nation's children should be given the tools they need to recognize and avoid dangerous situations, and their willingness to do something to take action. They learn appreciation for the gifts in their own lives and how they are enriched by helping others through their efforts.

What They Learn & What They Do

The AmberWatch Foundation Youth Coalition is led by a Board of twenty-five dedicated young people, chaired by Selena Gomez and overseen by the AmberWatch Foundation, showing us all that kids and young people can be philanthropic and make important contributions to the world around them.

There are a number of ways in which members of the AmberWatch Foundation Youth Coalition and the Board will function over the 2008/2009 season, including:
  • Fundraising, social networking, sponsorships and communications campaigns
  • Promoting the "Be Safe!" Education Program and Tips
  • Contributing content to the AmberWatch Foundation newsletters
  • Planning and staging media events to bring awareness to the Foundation's mission and to provide AmberWatch Foundation-approved safety tools to underprivileged kids to help keep them safe.
