THE AMBERWATCH FOUNDATION’S "BE SAFE!" PROGRAM LEADS THE CHARGE IN SAFETY EDUCATION IN FLORIDA SCHOOL DISTRICTS

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (July 30, 2007) The AmberWatch Foundation (AWF) is excited to announce that their "Be Safe!" Program is the leading abduction and molestation prevention and education program in Florida after just one short year since its introduction to the state’s school districts in January of last year. The "Be Safe!" Program is a cost-free educational course designed for the classroom that teaches children and families how to arm themselves against potentially dangerous situations.

After three short months into the pilot program, the Palm Beach County School District’s Safe & Drug Free Advisory Council, under the lead of the Federal Agency and Secretary of Education, selected the "Be Safe!" Program for all of the district’s schools. The Florida Pilot Program, consisting of a basic classroom curriculum with group discussions, workbook activities and assignments, has been adopted in several school districts throughout Florida and is currently offered in the top four largest school districts in the state.

"We are very excited about the success of the "Be Safe!" Program in Florida," said Keith Jarrett, Founder and Chairman of the AmberWatch Foundation. "The AmberWatch Foundation developed this effective educational program as a further testament to our dedication to the protection of children through knowledge and communication. With the "Be Safe!" Program, we hope to reach and educate children and families across the country on how to protect themselves."

Said Kim Cotton Williams, Assistant Director Prevention Department, Palm Beach County School District, "As one of the largest school districts in the state we are constantly evaluating programs to help empower our children. The school district of Palm Beach County uses "Be Safe!" exclusively for teaching our kids how to stay safe."

Florida-based supporters and partners of the AmberWatch Foundation and their "Be Safe!" Program include the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach, The School District of Palm Beach County, Safe and Drug Free Schools Advisory Council, Florida State Senator Dave Aronberg and Broward County District Commissioner Ilene Leiberman.
